I’m thinking of going live next weekend to talk about Athena, as there is a lot to say about what sparked the original idea, and the process of creating the costume and props. But here are some pictures!
The gown was made using an OOP evening gown from Vogue Patterns and white georgette fabric I had in my stash. I left out the original flower decorations at the front drape and shoulders and made my own. The cape is leftovers of a curtain panel I bought a while back at the thrift shop. It attaches to the shoulders with a hook & D-ring. The shoulder pieces are held by magnets. The front drape decoration holds with a pin like a brooch.
There was nothing historically accurate about the pattern I used, but to me, this gown pattern definitely had a goddess flair to it. You can read my pattern review on PatternReview.com: https://sewing.patternreview.com/review/pattern/149606
