In a Family Way, Part 3. The theme of this shoot, in the old part of Sisteron, was “Élise goes to town to buy some bread, but ends up buying flowers as well, wandering through the streets and the andrones of Sisteron, and stopping by the shore of the Durance river to enjoy the views”. No pregnant or mother Élise this time, just Élise as herself. I purposely wore a wig that wasn’t styled, to reflect the freedom she is finding here as opposed to the life of duty that she had in Paris.
I am still madly in love with this town. The andrones are fascinating. These are small passages between and under houses, allowing you to go up and down town. They are typical of this area, and can be found mainly in Sisteron and in Forcalquier, another town not too far away from here.
Only a few days left until we have to go back home. I don’t want to go! The past week has been a dream come true and I’ll cherish the memories forever. I am inspired to keep on writing Élise’s story here. At least now I’ll be able to describe the town more accurately and use its assets (the andrones, the citadelle, the mountains, etc.) for the story.
I hope you enjoyed these photo sets! I’m not sure we’ll be able to squeeze more photo shoots the coming days as the forecast is rainy and stormy, but you just never know…
